# Set the VM's CPU model

> Writes the CPU model into the VM config. It takes effect on the next full stop and start — a reboot from inside the
guest won't pick it up; `rebootRequired` is true when the VM is running now. Needs the operate role; blocked while
PENDING/SUSPENDED (403). Writes a `SET_CLOUD_CPU_TYPE` audit entry.
